“Pan/Crop”. A series of panoramic digital photo graphics. Digital photo print. 2013.
The work deals with some curious interference that appears when a moving camera interacts with the light. The randomly chosen subject line of some photo panoramas represents some public places like a railway station or a picture gallery, but some black forms are emerging spontaneously and infiltrating these photos. These kinds of interference remind the paintings of the abstract expressionists from New York – Robert Motherwell and Franz Klein. The interference that is put in the panorama is set in a gap between a spectator’s glance and the subject line in the background. These forms and figures look like something that people see when they wink and can be called “blind spots”.
